4 Labor Day Fashion Rules You Need to Know

When it comes to after Labor Day fashion, there really are no rules...

It's 2023 after all! So that makes Rule #1:

There are no rules!

Now that we've got that covered, here are some post-Labor Day clothing style tips:

Rule #2: Wear White

If you must remain fancy, call it "Winter White."

Fun fact: Wanna know why you "can't" wear white after Labor Day? Since Labor Day typically represents the end of summer, a "rule" was established that you shouldn't wear white after Labor Day if you didn't have the money to take Fall and Winter vacations. It was also used as a way to identify those who needed to work and those who didn't. Gross.

Do you like white? Wear it!

Rule #3: Linen is a Year-Round Fabric

And no one notices or cares if your linen is wrinkled.

Playing with fabrics, textures, and layering is the most fun parts of dressing. Wear leather and linen; denim and lace. Getting dressed can actually be fun!

Rule #4: If you feel good, you look good

If you find yourself surrounded by people you think might judge you for breaking these "rules of fashion," find new friends. Dress how you like, there are no rules. The best thing you can wear is a smile...and an Emily Phillips dress!
